Hi there,

I thought I'd share a fabulous website I just discovered on FaceBook a few weeks ago, I receive these word of wisdom everyday and I read these as part of self development for my continued expansion. I wanted to pass on the site to you and especially this message that I think fits well into the Legacy element. it's called the Daily OM and you can subscribe too for free! here is today's message:

Squirrel Medicine

Native Americans considered all living beings as brothers and sisters that had much to teach including squirrels. These small creatures taught them to work in harmony with the cycles of nature by conserving for the winter months during times when food was plentiful. In our modern world, squirrels remind us to set aside a portion of our most precious resources as an investment in the future. Though food and money certainly fall into this category, they are only some of the ways our energy is manifested. We can conserve this most valuable asset by being aware of the choices we make and choosing only those that nurture and sustain us. This extends to the natural resources of our planet as well, using what we need wisely with the future in mind.

Saving and conservation are not acts of fear but rather affirmations of abundance yet to come. Squirrels accept life’s cycles, allowing them to face winters with the faith that spring will come again. Knowing that change is part of life, we can create a safe space, both spiritually and physically, that will support us in the present and sustain us in the future. This means not filling our space with things, or thoughts, that don’t serve us. Without hoarding more than we need, we keep ourselves in the cyclical flow of life when we donate our unwanted items to someone who can use them best. This allows for more abundance to enter our lives, because even squirrels know a life of abundance involves more than just survival.

Squirrels use their quick, nervous energy to enjoy life’s adventure. They are great communicators, and by helping each other watch for danger, they do not allow worry to drain them. Instead, they allow their curious nature to lead the way, staying alert to opportunities and learning as they play. Following the example set by our squirrel friends, we are reminded to enjoy the journey of life’s cycles as we plan and prepare for a wonderful future, taking time to learn and play along the way.

What is exceptional about the aquaponics is that anyone can grow their own fresh organic veggies and talapia (protein source) using no soil and very little water and one system would feed 2-3 continuously anywhere in the world. Very cool. www.aquaponicsusa.com and tell them Karen sent you as I am building a fund to promote this world wide. If anyone is interested in going out on a tour we can meet Garth too who is a legend with his lifestyle and permaculture on one of the most magical square miles on Earth.

Lauren, that was a beautiful story.

I just spent an awesome weekend out in Pioneer Town with many wonderful people who live very green and alternative. Will share pics of what they created and how they are paying it forward with their very cool creations. One is an aquaponics system that provides a self sustaining food growing system. Have you ever met anyone who lives in a cement teepee? Beautiful orchards and gardens in the middle of the desert and boulder houses and my favorite dome people.

Hey there David!

I hope you and the family are finishing up a beautiful Sunday...I missed seeing you at Pivot Point yesterday.

I have a great story that happened today I wanted to share with you regarding Legacy...sort of.

Okay...so I'm committed to doing my part to go green... I'm on a mission! I've been wanting to paint an accent wall in my house and had an idea... instead of going out and buying a new can of paint, why don't I call my many friends who literally change their interior colors like underwear and see what they have. Sure enough one of my friends calls back and says, "Please come and see if there is something you can use, I have a whole shelf dedicated to paint!" I have 4 other friends I put the call into, so if this color doesn't work out I'm sure I'll find another one!

So that's not the BEST part! Have you ever noticed that the Universe has a very interesting way of getting our attention? Earlier this morning I meditated and prayed, offering to be the Hollow Bamboo and to let whatever come through me, not from me, to serve others. I also shared that I wanted to create more abundance in my life financially at this moment.

"Ask and ye shall Recieve"...I'm driving down the hill from picking up the paint and I see a small black leather bag in the street. I pull over and pick it up and inside are 9 credit cards, a driver's license, a cashiers check, an iPod Nano and $450 cash plus a whole bunch of other important papers! I found the owner's business card with a phone number and called him. Turns out it belongs to a doctor who had gone to pick up his mom at the retirement home and while putting her wheelchair in the back seat of his old red Pontiac convertible...(BTW - very cool car!), and it feel off the trunk where he had set it.

We met and I returned his bag intact. He was very appreciative and couldn't believe someone had actually picked it up and called. I told him I didn't believe it wasn't by chance that I was the one who had picked it up, but that I did have a request of him. I asked if he had seen the movie “Pay It Forward” and he said yes. I asked him at that point if he was willing to "Pay it Forward" he smiled and said he would.

This was a synchronistic moment first driven to contribute to the planet and resulted in contributing in a way I would have never had imagined... it's SO cool!!! I know I am the hollow bamboo, you are too as are many of us in Quattro. I'm so grateful for this day and to be in this moment.

Namaste,
L.

Thank you all for your inspirational postings. Our hope is that together with all of you, Quattro creates an amazing Legacy for everyone it touches.

We work hard in our family to be kind to our planet. But what I find most amazing is that we are constantly improving at the hands of our children! They are VERY aware of what can be recycled and catch us every time if we accidently throw something in the wrong bin. It makes me feel good that our schools are teaching children how to take better care of the planet. Now, if only we could get them to remember to turn off the lights when they leave a room.... :)
